We want what those doctors struggling with the state of healthcare IT want. We want the promise to be fulfilled – more automation & efficiency; new apps; better speech recognition; systems that translate data into narrative; easier to use; affordable, subsidized or cost-effective models; precision down to the exact patient; clinical algorithms, based on demographic and patient historical information; tools for diagnosis, treatment, and management; and all of it faster, better & ultimately cheaper. And, we want all providers paid for the work they do – without hassles and on time.
Aplacare believes that this will not happen until there is an operational layer that pulls everything together. It should work like your home telephone, which allows anyone to just plug in a device from which folks can easily work together, even in different countries with different setups and with very complex underlying environments. Then each provider will be free to simply, easily and cost-effectively practice medicine not practice administration – which needs to be fully automated like it is in other industries. Aplacare calls this a healthcare business platform (HBP).It is built on IT but works with operational structures in place for everyone.
We also believe someone has to go first. Waiting for consensus is just costing money, time and lives. Like the phone system, someone went first and got billing and administration working even between competing companies. So we are going to go first – but the only way to bring folks in is to be open. And we must open it all up but make it work together – which we are also doing. We believe every hospital and provider – and ultimately every patient – needs this.
Aplacare is commercializing a health care informatics platform offering. The platform contains scalable, resilient and responsive services grouped around its four layers – infrastructure, data, models and presentation. Our platform is the basis for a new marketplace of interoperable applications, delivering instant access to innovation and facilitating the independent ecosystem to harness technological trends from outside of healthcare. Aplacare believes that this ecosystem of vendors from around the world will collectively outperform any possible traditional integration approach.
